Description


The motif can be considered one of the rarest in Meissen (Rückert / Willsberger no. 45). The bowl, which is listed in the inventory of the Royal Collections as "Saladiere", is a faithful copy of the Chinese original from the Kang Hsi period (see exhibition catalogue Lübeck 1993 no. 75 right). Only a few bowls were sold in the two Johanneum auctions: 

  • 1919 no. 149, swords mark u. probably palace no. N-5-w (only the second plate no. 148 illustrated on plate 20)
  • 1920 No. 144, swords mark and palace no. N-5-w (only the second plate no. 143 illustrated on plate 10)
